Who are weThe Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. About the jobWorking under the Logistics and Procurement Officer you will be responsible for the procurement of program supplies, and you will support improvements in all logistical and procurement functions including supply chain management, fleet management, and assets.
Duties• Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment ordered by the projects in a cost-effective and transparent manner in line with DRC and donor specific policies;• Ensure that all orders are tracked from point of planning and request through to final receipt. • Participate in evaluation of bids and proposals and make sure the bids evaluation report, technical evaluation, minutes of negotiations and negotiated contract in selection of consultants contain all the facts and information. About youTo be successful in this role you must have:• Experience in administrative tasks, including filing systems. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (ability to type in Arabic preferred)• Fluency in written and spoken English
Ideally you will also have:• Qualification in supply chain management including procurement, transport, warehouse and stock management;• 1 year experience in a similar role
We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from July 1st 2014 and be willing and able to work in Akkar Province, including Wadi Khaled.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
