OVERALL MISSION
General objective
Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Advisor and in collaboration with the health team, the Pharmacy field officer is responsible for ensuring an efficient daily management support to the pharmacy in the health facilities supported, respecting the medical procedures established in the framework of the project, as well as PU-AMI overall principles, in order to provide quality health services to Syrian refugees.
Responsibilities and tasks
Support and monitor the pharmaceutical management of the primary healthcare centers(PHC) and Mobile Medical Unit(MMU) supported:
- Field visits for specific monitoring and evaluation issues.
- Ensure that drugs are provided with respect of the prices agreed upon by PU-AMI (according to the suppliers and MoH).
- Ensure that the drugs are bought following PU-AMI procedures, including quality assurance criteria.
- Ensure a proper stock management control: manage inventory, re-stocking (inventory, opening stock, buffer stock, stock on hand, etc.).
- Ensure an accurate follow up of drug consumption in the supported PHCs and MMUs.
- Help maintaining reasonable dispensary stock levels.
- Maintain proper drug storage in PHC.
- Monitor prescribed medications through written prescriptions.
- Direct supervision of the drug consumption data collection.
- Provide technical support for the implementation and management of the pharmacy activities implemented in the new PHCs.
- Propose ways to update existing pharmacy data tools and procedures in collaboration with the pharmacy Advisor.
- Report the needs of the beneficiaries in terms of accessto medications.
Capacity building:
- Provide technical support during trainings.
- Prepare background material for use in discussions and briefing sessions on pharmacy related issues.
- Responding to phone and face to face enquiries from supported facilities pharmacy focal points.
Reporting & Data collection
- In collaboration with the pharmacy Advisor, ensure direct supervision of phamacy data collection and reporting system implemented in the health facilities.
- Prepare status and progress reports, prepare tables and draft routine correspondence.
- Participate in writing all required medical-phamarcy reports (PU-AMI, donors, partners, etc.).
- In charge of filing and archiving.

QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory requirements
Language Skills: Fluent in English and Arabic,
Education Degree: Health related degree.
Work experience: Minimum experience of 2 years. Proven experience in NGOs.
Computer Skills: Excellent knowledge of the MS office software including Word, Excel, Outlook.
Other requirements:
- Valid driving licence (2 years minimum)
- Knowledge of the project cycle and logical framework.
- Knowledge in drug management.
- Ability to report activities’ indicators.
- Management and pedagogical skills.
- Good knowledge of Saida geography, willing to travel locally.
- Literacy in reporting.
