Finance Assistant- Beirut

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as a Finance Assistant. Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties•    Daily accounting (bookkeeping) according to DRC financial handbook,•    Prepare and submit monthly ledgers to the Finance and Admin Officer in Beirut,•    Manage office petty cash and Prepare monthly cash counts,•    Maintain proper filing of all financial documentation (vouchers, contracts, tender documents, etc.)•    Ensuring that budgets and accounts are in accordance with donor requirements (in coordination with the Project  Manager or the Area Coordinator),•    Prepare and finalize the monthly vouchers for DRC Beirut,•    Follow up on SSCL, Safety and other INGOs training/payment,•    Compile the monthly payment schedule for DRC Lebanon,•    Support during verification /audit visits.About youTo be successful in this role you must have University degree in accounting or related area, a minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience, fluency in written and spoken English and Good computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Ideally you will also have worked previously with NGO’s. We offerAn interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until end of December 2014, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from June 2014 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals.
