Internship opportunities with LIVCD - Announcement:Background: The Lebanon Industry Value Chain Development - LIVCD is a five year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development- USAID, and implemented under the leadership of Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI). Its overall objective is to improve Lebanon’s economic stability and food security, especially in rural areas, and decrease rural migration.LIVCD Project aims to increase the competitiveness of several value chains, and at expanding the number of Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises that can compete in selected markets, improve linkages between those firms and other actors throughout the value chains, increase the gross value of products and services in local and export markets, and expand exports.The project will intervene in several sectors, in particular Floriculture, Grapes, Olive Oil, Apple, Pears, Processed Foods, Honey, Rural Tourism, Cherries and Avocados. Interns reports to Grants and Administrative team members.
Majors and education: All majors from universities, in particular: Agriculture engineering, Economics, Business and Administration, Nutrition, Food safety, Marketing, Communications, Supply chain Management, Logistics, Statistics, Public Health, Health Promotion, Development Sciences, Tourism management.
Scope of Work: Support the Grants and Administrative teams in several assignments to be defined with the internship supervisor depending on the team’s needs, such as:
- Support the Grants team with vetting, writing reports, and filing
- Support the Administrative Team with office related tasks, that include, answering the phone, translation, and filing.
- Assist in logistics for project events and ensure that all project logistics needs are met.
- Assist in managing logistic supports for staff and visitors such as air and land travel, hotel arrangements, and travel documentation.
-Support the team in managing the project motor pool.- Assist in Human resources files, make sure they are complete and up-to-date. Collect and maintain personnel documents and human resources files, including: manuals, employee data, statements of understanding, contracts, references, performance appraisals, and other documents.
Duration: Three to six months full time/part-time. Possibility of 12 months Internship with Administration Team
Recommendation: Upon completion of the internship, the intern will receive an evaluation and a letter of recommendation.
