Youth Coordinator

RI works in 29 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.   Position Summary: The Youth Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the Youth component within the Education Program targeting adolescents and youth within the refugee and host community. The Youth Coordinator reports directly to the Education Program Manager.   Main Responsibilities Assess the program requirements of youth in the community Carry on focus group and discussion sessions to identify youth leaders. Conduct assessments with the youth groups to determine the needs to be targeted in terms of learning opportunities and life skills. Collaborate with the wider youth community for enhanced intervention. Ensure a variety of sport, recreational, cultural and other themes are integrated within the implemented approach. Prepare material and curriculum to be utilized for the Training of Trainers ToT to be conducted for the youth leaders that is harmonized with other actors’ materials Plan for and implement the roll-out trainings to be conducted to 3000 youth. Make sure adolescents at risk have access to adequate learning opportunities and increased knowledge on life skills Provide regular progress reports to the Education Program Manager that highlight key success as well as challenges and gaps Identify areas of intervention within the various program geographical coverage and with various youth activities that involve youth from different nationalities and cultures, Recruit, train and involve volunteers as adequate and appropriate for the program implementation. Encourage local youth to participate in regional and national activities and programs. Establish and maintain contacts with local and regional organizations for youth component. Ensure that all programs and activities are implemented according to relevant RI policies and procedures. Accompanies the Education Program Manager for field visits upon needed. Directly reports any security / field / office Incidents to the Education Program Manager. Abides by Relief International Sexual Exploitation & Abuse Policy, and the Drug Free Work Place Statement, and the Child Protection Policy. Other program related tasks as agreed upon with the Education Program Manager.   Skills and requirements:   Master Degree in Social Sciences with strong experience with international/local NGOs. Ability to administer youth programs Team building, decision-making skills Analytical and problem solving skills Effective verbal, presentation and listening skills Good communications skills Effective negotiation and mediation skills Very good report writing skills . Fluency in Arabic & English is a must.
