We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated Community Development Assistant for the DRC Field Office in North Bekaa.
Who are we?
DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.
Duties
Conduct FGDs and fill out questionnaires with beneficiaries to assess POC’s needs and interests.
Develop, plan and organize courses and activities responding to the beneficiaries’ needs.
Evaluate constantly the quality of the services provided in the community center by conducting evaluation exercises with beneficiaries, trainers, center staff and establish a proper complaints mechanism.
Follow up on all payments and Ensure timely and supervise payments in his/her sector of responsibility.
Represent the DRC Community Centre team when requested
Conduct monthly coordination meetings with the community center staff and volunteers.
Develop a capacity building plan for the partner and ensure its implementation.
Raise awareness about community mobilizing initiatives and mobilizing community actors to submit proposals. Assist applicants in project design and the submission process;
Ensure full accountability to communities (and DRC) of the use of project funds; Create work plans (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) and report updates;
Monitor activity implementation on a regular basis and participate in periodic reviews of the programme, providing support where needed; Evaluate performance and quality of interventions;
About you
To be successful in this role you must have University degree in social field, good in English written and spoken, and social work experiences and be able to work under pressure. In addition Minimum 2 years experience in similar field work, flexibility in terms of working hours and working locations is essential. As for the language, both English and Arabic are mandatory in speaking and typing.

Basic Salary: 1180 USD
