About RI:
Relief International (RI), an international relief and development agency with cross-sectoral programs bridging relief and development currently seeks Education Field officer for RI’s Education programming in Lebanon in response to the Syria crisis.
Position Summary:
The Education Field Officer will be responsible for the daily implementation, supervision and follow up of the Education Program components implemented in a group of schools.
The EFO is under the direct supervision of the Education Program Manager and is supported by an Education Field Coordination Officer (EFCO).
Main Responsibilities
Constantly updates the EFCO on the situation and the progress of the schools.
Refers to the EFCO on any decision making steps or any modifications that need to be taken regarding the implementation process.
Visits and establishes new schools and builds good and positive relations with the school management in coordination with the EFCO.
Outreaches for students in the school area using the different outreach methods in coordination with the EFCO.
Prepares and submits photocopying and printing orders to the EFCO for processing.
Provides technical and educational support to the running schools and their school staff.
Attends in-office and external meetings / trainings as requested by the Education PM.
Accompanies the Education PM for field visits upon needed.
Keeps track of the school staff attendance on a daily basis.
Collaborates with the school Hygiene Promoter to achieve program objectives.
Informs the EFCO on any late arrivals / absence on working days
Ensures that the schedule of the classes held in the school is according to the Education program procedures.
Ensures the availability of supplies required for the schools and informs the EFCO on any shortage of materials.
Prepares daily reports and weekly work plans and submits them to the EFCO.
Prepares all required reports, forms and sheets as per the Education Program reporting procedures and submits them to the EFCO.
Prepares Disbursement Receipts for all school staff following RI’s payment procedures.
Closely monitors the schools running costs and verifies each payment before submission to the EFCO.
Suggests additional materials / activities to be implemented in the schools.
Constantly monitors the performance of the school staff and suggests relevant trainings / capacity building initiatives that aim to promote quality education.
Collects and archives reports and data in an organized way.
Provides updates on all aspects of the program and related activities when needed and prepares specific reports when requested.
Represents the organization in a professional and respectful manner.
Ensures program implementation in compliance with RI policies.
Prepares schools evacuation plans and conducts related drills in coordination with the EFCO.
Directly reports any security / field / office incidents to the Education PM using relevant reporting procedures.
Ensures that all school-related activities and program implementation procedures are conducted in a manner free of corruption or questionable practices.
Other program related tasks as agreed upon with the Education PM.
Required Qualifications
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.
Bachelor Degree in Social Education or any other related field, Masters Degree is a plus
A minimum 3 to 5 years experience in operations position preferably with Local or International NGOs.
Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.
Good command of Excel and Microsoft Word preferred.
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic & English is a must
Desire to learn, willingness to ask questions, cultural sensitivity, and flexibility are desired characteristics.
