Program Associate

PROGRAM ASSOCIATE   World Learning International Development Programs has an immediate vacancy for a Beirut-based Program Associate for the USAID-funded D-RASATI II education project in Lebanon. This position is for a Lebanese national or a resident of Lebanon. Duration: 6 months. Background: This position will support a project aimed at training English teachers, developing extra-curricular activities, providing schools with ICT equipment and training, and school leadership development in order to enhance student achievement in public schools.   Responsibilities: Program Associate  Provide daily administrative support to other staff by creating monthly calendars, scheduling appointments, providing logistical support, record and disseminate meeting minutes, draft correspondence, and coordinating travel arrangements. Act as point of contact for all program staff members and independent  contractors including, drafting/editing reports, drafting financial paperwork, and maintaining program files Prepare and maintain data files (electronically and manually). Manage internal databases. Represent WL/Project at meetings and conferences, relevant to the subject and themes of the portfolio and disseminate information regarding WL, as requested. Participate in internal working groups, as requested or assigned. Contribute written materials that support divisional needs (brochures, summary project information, etc.). Other related tasks as assigned Schedule appointments and meetings for internal and external events. Facilitate in the implementation of financial, administrative, and other internal tools to assist the COP. Review and summarize background documentation for areas within portfolio. Prepare letters to MEHE and Follow up with MEHE Strong on translation from Arabic to English/English to Arabic Assisting in the backstopping of program in close collaboration with component leaders.   Desired Qualifications and Experiences:   BA in a relevant discipline (a BA in English/Arabic Literature, Education, or Translation preferred); Fluency in Arabic and English, both verbal and written are strongly required. Knowledge of French preferred; Professional experience in an office environment; Strong administrative skills; Detail-oriented and the ability to prioritize and multi task; Ability adapt to quick changing situations; Excellent Microsoft Office skills. Ability to work independently and within a team.
