It Technician

  Knowledge and experience : Requiring professional diploma or university degree on the IT field 2 years work experience in a similar field Good knowledge of written and spoken English Excellent computer skills Willingness of self-education in IT related fields Basic knowledge of radio equipment (HF and VHF) General duties and responsibilities: Installs, adapts and maintains all professional ICRC Informatics equipment (computers, servers, printers, peripherals, internal networks, power systems, cabling, connexions and internet facilities) respecting internal standards and procedures.  Installs, programs, adapts and maintains all professional ICRC Radio equipment (HF, VHF, UHF, modems, antennas, cabling, power systems, batteries) respecting internal standards and procedures.  Installs, programs, adapts and maintains all professional ICRC Telephone equipment (Sat phones, faxes, switchboards, wireless units, telephone sets, in-doors cabling and connexions) respecting internal standards and procedures.  Assists his/her technical superior on the implementation of IT projects.  Shares knowledge and maintains technical and administrative information updated following internal documentation and reporting procedures.  Provides IT Help Desk service to users on working days, handling and prioritizing requests according to established internal procedures.  Always projects a positive and service oriented image of the IT department.  Keeps an updated inventory of all ICT equipment in compliance with internal procedures.  Knows, respects and monitors respect of ICRC IT policies, procedures and standards from GVA.  Creates and follows Internal Requests as per internal procedures and standards.  Prepares all shipments of IT equipment and makes sure that items travel properly and safely packed and accompanied by the necessary documents as per ICRC procedures  Liaises with Logistics following procedures and keeping proper reporting and filing.  Receives and acknowledges all shipments related to IT equipment, and reports in case of defect.  Deals directly with local providers of IT material and services for small local purchases.  Maintains the IT office/workshop and the IT stock clean in order and secured.  Ensures that basic stock item positions do not go below minimum levels and reacts timely.  The IT Technician is willing to carry out support IT missions in other ICRC offices in Lebanon out if requested.
