Social Field Officer

Job Purpose Summary Lead the team of Social workers and ensure that data collected from beneficiaries is appropriate and true. He also should organize and lead needs assessments. Organize and manage the file folders of the beneficiaries both electronically and in hard copies. Along with the technical team and Shelter coordinator, design and implement a work plan for the projects activities. Key Responsibilities Coordinate the social activities, under the Shelter Programme, according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans. Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements. Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities. Ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures. Help supervise, train and develop team. Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required. Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technology, methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities. Lead the Social workers team in coordination with Shelter Senior Officer under the supervision from the Project Coordinator. Assist in the communications with beneficiaries and other stakeholders. Perform registration and evaluation works in the most professional manner possible. Prepare contracts and participate in families’ selection and assignation to suitable Housing Units. Explain the contract to house owners and assure the house owners understand and except NRC’s terms and conditions. Organize and lead conducting of surveys, questionnaires or assessments as per required. Explain all beneficiaries and those who did not fall within the project criteria the NRC selection criteria. Guarantee that all beneficiaries sign all the appropriate documentation for their contracts and subsequent payments and ensure that they have not been registered by any other shelter partner for the same benefits. Organize, manage, and maintain the beneficiaries file folders and make sure that all necessary documents are in place. Act as database focal point.  He/she is responsible of putting all beneficiary lists (Hardcopies and Softcopies) in place. Check the beneficiaries’ records so he makes sure that there is no duplication. Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor. Organize social assessments of families, in coordination with the SSO and under the supervision of the PC. Participate in the design of social tools. Act as the social focal point between the technical team, the social team, the SSO and the PC. Plan the daily and weekly activities of SFAs in relation to: Creation of beneficiary lists Response to and follow up of referred cases Exit interviews with beneficiaries Indication of households whose contracts have expired Management of assigned case-loads, including keeping up-to-date records of numbers of families and individuals residing in shelters Provide regular reports relating to analysis of assessment findings, as well as progress and situation reports. Systematically follow up on referrals and troublesome cases. Prepare weekly reports to be shared with PC. Supervisees: The SFO supervise the work of the SFAs Qualifications and Competences Academic and Professional Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Social work or other relevant field Relevant Experience Minimum of 3 year of relevant work experience in a busy organization. Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and team working skills Good cultural awareness and sensitivity Local knowledge is a plus. Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential Very Good English Language level Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector is a plus. Solid experience in assessment methodologies. Excellent communicational and report writing skills (oral and written). Strong computer experience (Word, Excel, Power point).
