Protection Reporting Training Officer

SCOPE In 2014, as part of a broader strategy to provide sustainable community-based protection to persons of concern, the IRC will work with local NGOs and community structures in order to build their capacity to monitor protection concerns and identify and deliver appropriate solutions. Under the direction of the Protection Training Manager, the Protection Reporting Training Officer (PRTO) is responsible for support to the design and delivery of trainings on Protection Monitoring, Protection Reporting and Mainstreaming and other technical areas.  As part of a small capacity building team, the PRTO will provide on-the-job support and mentorship to partner protection reporting staff. The PRTO will support partner field teams and the reporting officer to ensure quality data is transmitted in action-oriented weekly and analytical monthly protection reports. The PRTO will be based in the South with travel to Beirut and other field locations. RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute to the development of training materials for training of partner staff and other stakeholders on Protection Monitoring, Protection Reporting and other technical areas as required. Assist in the re-formatting of weekly and monthly analytical reporting templates. Provide on-the-job mentorship and support to local partner reporting and field staff through conducting follow-up on protection data gathered in the field and reviewing data on an ongoing basis. Ensure regular feedback from partner reporting staff is communicated with the Protection Training Manager and other stakeholders to adapt capacity building plans accordingly. Ensure effective M&E is carried out according to the shared plan. Regularly report to supervisor on all activities, weekly, bi-monthly & monthly with progress, achievements, bottlenecks to document challenges and lessons learned. Assist with any other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor(s). REQUIREMENTS Minimum one year of demonstrated experience in community work, preferably with refugees, internally displaced people, vulnerable women and girls etc in similar cultural and political settings. Demonstrated experience with participatory training development and delivery, preferably on Protection and reporting topics.   Strong organisational and time management skills. Significant skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access. Excellent organizational and communication and time management skills. Flexibility, commitment, patience. Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, flexibility, ability to improvise, team player.
