Project Description:   Developing Assistance to Schools and Teacher Improvement-II (D-RASATI-2) is a project that aims at enhancing student achievement in Lebanese public schools by training English teachers, developing extra-curricular activities, providing schools with ICT equipment and training, developing school leadership and building the capacity and tools necessary to support school improvement planning. D-RASATI-2 is a 2-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).   Position Description:   In light of the current Syrian crisis, D-RASATI-2 will be supporting Lebanese public schools that are hosting Syrian refugee students; this will be in the form of activities that supplement D-RASATI-2 Components in contributing to enhancing the learning environment in the targeted schools. This will be achieved on two levels: improving the capacity of principals and administrators to manage their schools according to the minimum standards of Education in Emergency (INEE standards), and training trainers and teachers on implementing extra-curricular activities (ECA) to provide psycho-social support to students.   Hence, World Learning, the task manager of D-RASATI-2, is seeking a qualified candidate for the Writing for Psychosocial Support Consultancy.  The successful candidate will assist the target schools by training, coaching and mentoring school leaders and staff writing for psychosocial support. The consultant will develop the training modules, pilot the modules, train teachers and trainers, and coach trained teachers on the implementation of Writing for psychosocial support in the targeted schools.     Specific Job Description:   The successful candidate will:   Develop an ECA module on writing for psycho-social support, and customize the module based on the needs of the targeted schools which will emerge from the pilot phase; Develop a training program (including training material, power-point presentation, etc.) for the beneficiaries in line with D-RASATI-2 objectives, implementation period and beneficiaries' needs; Train school staff including principals, administrators and teachers on writing for psychosocial support; Train the staff of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) and Center for Education, Research and Development (CERD); Develop and submit an end of training report regarding the training performances, evaluation of beneficiaries' response, and challenges faced during the training; Mentor and coach participants throughout the pilot phase, training phase and after the implementation of the training through phone-coaching and direct school visits, and maintaining other regular communications; Design and deliver training of trainers (ToT) to 15 trainers on training other participants on using Writing for psychosocial support; Coordinate closely with the D-RASATI-2 Education in Emergency (EiE) Coordinator  for the module development, the pilot phase, and the training phase, including key issues related to the schools and participants throughout project implementation; Submit regular updates as requested by the EiE coordinator on project activities, participants’ progress, and any key developments or challenges related to participants or project deliverables to the EiE Coordinator; Provide other reports as and when requested.   Desired Qualifications:   A BA degree in English/Arabic Literature, Education, Sociology, Psychology or other relevant field with at least 5 years of relevant experience (an MA in English/Arabic Literature, Education, Sociology, Psychology or other relevant field with at least 5 years of relevant field experience strongly preferred); Experience in training and/or facilitation/coaching; Knowledge of Lebanese public schools and the public educational system; Ability and willingness to deliver regional trainings in all different regions of Lebanon; Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, internet research, etc.) ; Excellent organizational, managerial, interpersonal, and communication skills; Lebanese citizenship; Ability and willingness to commit for the 1-year duration of the project strongly preferred; Fluency in Arabic and English required; fluency in French preferred; Available to begin consulting work immediately.   Expected  Deliverables: One developed ECA training module on writing for psychosocial support; Training module piloted and reviewed; Monthly coaching report on coaching and follow up with the beneficiaries.
