Resource Mobilization Internship

Purpose of Project and Background  IFRC MENA Zone office is tasked to strengthen its partnerships with key Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) Partner National Societies (PNS) and other traditional and non-traditional partners, especially with government officials, aid agencies and NGOs, to mobilize resources and advocate for National Society needs in the MENA region. The Resource Mobilization Unit (RMU) is responsible for the coordination of Zone-wide efforts to implement the Federation Wide Resource Mobilization Strategy (FWRS) in MENA and to advance the Humanitarian Diplomacy (HD) goals of Strategy 2020, including efforts to deepen public, governmental and partner support, and maximize RM and HD opportunities for the IFRC Secretariat and National Societies in MENA and globally. Under the supervision of Resource Mobilization Senior Officer, the Resource Mobilization Intern will support the RMU efforts to efficiently conduct its strategy and initiatives. The Resource Mobilization Intern will support the unit with high-quality provision for the day-to-day tasks.   Alignment to the IFRC’s objectives and strategy  As part of the implementation of the Federation Wide Resource Mobilisation Strategy, to support the Resource Mobilization Senior Officer to implement a RM Plan for MENA Zone. In doing so, the Resource Mobilization Intern duties fall into supporting in two priority categories – 1.) Donor Stewardship & Tracking of Secretariat Funding 2.) Knowledge Management for RM opportunities for National Societies and IFRC secretariat programmes and emergency operations.  Specific duties:  1.)   Donor Stewardship & Tracking of Secretariat Funding: -       Promotional Documents: To support the Resource Mobilization Senior Officer to develop promotional documents for MENA countries and key programs based on  the Development Operational plans. -       Donor reporting: To support the Resource Mobilization Senior Officer to maintain a tracking system to ensure that all reporting deadlines are met. -       Funding plans: To support the Resource Mobilization Senior Officer to update funding plans and donor mapping tools for all IFRC emergency appeals and annual plans. -       Funding situation: To support the Resource Mobilization Senior Officer, to establish tracking sheets to identify gaps in funding and determine funding priorities. 2.)   Knowledge Management for RM opportunities for National Societies and IFRC secretariat programmes and emergency operations: -       To support the Resource Mobilization Senior Officer to collect information, data, market research, and analysis of donor trends in MENA Zone including current and potential new sources of funding.  Start date:         As soon as possible.  Conditions:  The successful candidate will be based at IFRC MENA Zone Office 5 days a week- Monday to Friday on a full-time basis for an initial period of two months.
