Monitoring And Evaluation Assistant - Beirut

  We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant for the DRC Field Office in Beirut. Who are we? DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. Duties The M&E Assistant is responsible for supporting the administration, logistics and planning of the DRC M&E Department in Beirut and the Field Offices. • Responsible for administration and assistance to the M&E Coordinator and M&E Officer team in Beirut, including acting as a focal point for scheduling and reporting; • Actively participate in the daily, weekly and monthly work plan and ensure the M&E Department is equipped and resourced to carry out all monitoring activities as per donor requirements; • Provide direct assistance and support to the M&E Coordinator; • Provide direct support to the DRC M&E Beirut Department in all aspects of planning and conducting field monitoring trips; • Ensure follow up on reporting and referrals to the M&E Coordinator and relevant program staff; • Conduct field visits to DRC program sites in accordance with donor requirements; • Ensure timely data collection, entry, and upload for analysis by the M&E Department; • Ensure timely reporting on monitoring activities to relevant focal points in Beirut; • Provide regular verbal and written feedback on the work plan to the M&E Coordinator and relevant program staff. About you To be considered for the M&E Assistant position, you must have a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience – preferably in social work, community development, non-government, and/or outreach organizations. Qualifications and Position Requirements • Undergraduate degree/advanced diploma in social sciences, humanities, quantitative/qualitative research methods, public health, or related field OR high school diploma with significant professional experience; • A current driving license, held for at least two years; • Good knowledge of local context and community; • Languages: Fluency (native speaker) in written and spoken Arabic, good working knowledge of written and spoken English; • IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite (Excel experience preferred); • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and a strong team spirit; • Self-motivated and organized with a demonstrated capacity to manage time and personal work plan; • Optimistic attitude and a great sense of humor are essential requirements of the position!
