Parent & Teacher Support Officer - North

SCOPE OF WORK: Parent & Teacher Support Officer will be responsible for helping in the establishment and ongoing monitoring of parent committees, mothers’ groups, and teacher learning circles and will work closely with Community Mobilizers, Teacher Trainers, Community Based Education Officers and M&E team. Who this position reports to:  North Lebanon Education Manager RESPONSIBILITIES: In coordination with CBE officer, establish parent committees with clear roles and responsibilities as outlined by MEHE and implemented in public schools Promote parental partnership with schools and encourage community contribution to support education Train parent committees on children right to education and follow up child education with schools In coordination with Trainers of teachers and CBE officer, train parent committees on key school management, leadership principle and action planning focused on addressing protection concerns Establish mother groups before CBE enrollment begin, or using already existing mothers’ groups to support community education Monitor and support Parent & Teacher committees and Mothers’ groups activities Assist the CBE officer in establishing and providing peer-to-peer professional development engaging teachers in continuous learning and self-reflection. Support and facilitate the Protection officer in training committees members in safety and protection concerns Facilitate and co facilitate training to the community members regarding Education and IRC programs, as well as other relevant actors Share information to the population in the ITS around IRC services Participate in organizing school events highlighting educational achievement and children skills Any other education activity as required   Professional Standards While working on an IRC project, you are required to adhere to THE IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct and the country employment policies.   REQUIREMENTS: Experience in working with communities   Experience in working with children and organizing activities a plus Working experience in NGO a plus Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoying working in the field
