Collective Centre Management Assistant – Tripoli

We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated candidate to support the functioning of collective centre committees with a particular attention to vulnerable groups and/or persons   Who are we   DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libia, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties   Conduct focus group discussions/workshops with refugees of different ages and gender to identify their needs and concerns. Maintain regular contact with community representatives in their area of responsibilities. Identify gaps, problems and vulnerable cases in their area of responsibilities and report to the Collective Centre Management Officer (CCMO). Conduct management meetings and write the minutes.  Support the committees in conducting awareness sessions and information sharing for Collective Centre residents. Facilitate and encourage the participation of the community in the daily life of the Collective Centre.   About you To be successful in this role you must have a university degree, preferably in social studies with at least two years of work experience in this field.   Ideally you will also have some experience in managing collective centres committees, community mobilization activities or development projects in Emergency.    We offer An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 3 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start working from the 16th of March 2014 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli- Lebanon. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B1, equivalent to a basic salary of 1180 USD and a communication allowance of 80 USD per month.
