The mission needs technical support in order to achieve the following objectives:
Support staff and enhance their capacities of self care
Staff can be in need of PSS themselves in regard to specific issues related to the helping relationship.
This “taking care” component should be developed through technically supporting persons in charge of HR.
Implementation of PSS action as a complement to rehabilitation care
According to identified needs within beneficiaries of this service and to HI’s methodology of intervention, thephysical rehabilitation services should include a psychosocial support component aiming at helping the beneficiaries to better cope with their new condition. Here, the PSS is, together with physical rehabilitation of a holistic rehabilitation process of the patient.
The PSS mission should lead to re-assess added value and possibilities to implementing this activity for which HI is committed.
Accompaniment of other PSS activities
The mission should assess the possibility to support activities towards different beneficiaries (mainly children).
The employee is expected to:
Analyze the context of implementation :
Have a clear vision of the needs
Have a clear vision of the possibilities / feasibility of PSS.
Assess the “PSS faisability”:
Collect qualitative and quantitative information:
Meet with different level of staff (directors, PSS coordinators, animators, etc.)
Study any kind of documents produced (reports, pictures, etc.
Write an “assessment report” taking into account:
The main needs to be addressed in terms of PSS (including PSS as a complement to Rehabilitation)
The available human resources on the ground and the possibilities of training
The security situation on the ground (possibility to work in safe spaces / places, etc.)
The material / financial means or needs.
4. Launch the implementation of support to PSS activities :
PSS as a component of Rehabilitation care, support to the staff.
Optional: other PSS response .
5. Support the design and implementation of an action plan to start implementing PSS as a complement to rehabilitation care
Establish a capacity building plan for the staff
Establish an action plan with activities to be implemented
Establish monitoring tools adapted to the context
train the key staff
Monitor the implementation of the activities
6.Support to design and implementation of an action plan to start accompanying staff
