Case Worker

 We are seeking a  Case Worker for the Khenshara Center for our projects dedicated to Syrian refugee children at risk in Lebanon. This post is based at the Community center of Khenshara, in the Metn region in Mount Lebanon (30 km north east of Beirut). This post will appeal to those with a passion for helping children. You will bring experience of psycho-social services in Lebanon and preferably have experience working with children and the Syrian community. You will work in close cooperation with the Director of the Centre, our project coordinator and other experts. Responsibilities: Counseling children and care givers in individual and group sessions to assist them in dealing with the trauma of war and accompagny them in the transitional phase waiting to find adequate and long term solutions Interviewing children and care givers,reviewing records, and conferring with other professionals to evaluate mental or physical conditions of children and care givers Collaborating with other experts to plan and coordinate psycho-social activities, drawing on social work experience and children needs Monitoring, evaluating, and recording children and care givers progress with respect to project plans Modifying activities according to changes in children and care givers status Possibly assessing and visisting places where children could be reffered to us Performing work by using, developing and/ or improving the necessary work tools Ensuring good respect of confidentiality related to children Personal Specifications: Knowledge of therapy and couseling principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance Knowledge of psychology notions such as human behavior, individual differences, personality, psychological research methods and the assessment and treatment of behavioral disorders Experience in dealing with the Syrian community Experience in dealing with national authorities and with national and international partners (other NGOs, UN, etc) Ability to work with current technology such as Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook Personal Attributes: Organization skills, self-disciplined, flexibility A high interest and passion for working in the rehabilitation sector with children Comfortable working in an international environment and cross culturally Ability to work under pressure Ability to work as a team player, share knowledge widely, build relationships an partnerships Driving License and willingness to travel within Lebanon following security matters
