MEDECINS DU MONDE FRANCE seeks     3 Community Health workers For Lebanon mission – Bekaa area and South Beirut   For more than 30 years, Médecins du Monde, a campaigning medical organization committed to international solidarity, has been caring for the most vulnerable populations at home and abroad. It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. Those working for this independent organisation do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations. MdM currently works in 46 countries across all continents where it focuses on 4 priority areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, combating HIV and reducing the harm and risks associated with drug use, crises and conflicts.     TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES : Under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator, you will be responsible for contributing to the prevention and improvement of mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of the displaced population and the strained host population in the Bekaa and South Beirut area.                          More specifically you will:         Identify, assess and answer, when possible, to specific Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) needs and resources of the beneficiaries of the Program. You have here to consider that you will have to be flexible in term of movements. For instance, part of your activities will be to: Accompany the mobile clinics, Conduct home visits in the community/settlements.   Build relationship and trust with the communities/settlements from where the beneficiaries come from. Establish a regular communication with key members of the communities/settlements. Provide awareness activities to promote mental health and psychosocial wellbeing within the communities/settlements and Primary Health Care Centers beneficiaries.   Participate in the report and analysis of the issues affecting the mental health conditions at community level. Report and collect MHPSS data through the relevant forms.   CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Starting: 1st April 2014 Contract: Employee – Fixed term contract Duration: 10 months (renewable) Full time Post based in one of the operational bases of Medecins du Monde in Lebanon (Beirut and Zahle).   SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED: High school degree. Experience in Mental Health/Psychosocial fields an asset. Mediation skills. Arabic and English language are mandatory. Experience working with NGO is an asset. Ability to cope with difficult security context. Capacity to live in basic condition in the field. Good coordination and communication skills are a key factor to this position. You are able and willing to work in a multi-cultural environment You able to work as part of the team and participate in all activities of the mental health unit. You are flexible with travel inside Lebanon including overnight stays if required   Languages :  Arabic and English language are mandatory.
