Nutrition Head Of Project Assistant

Phase 1 (Assessment phase)   Objective 1: Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices assessment Activities : -       In collaboration with the nutrition head of project and the field officers, to make an assessment over Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices among the Syrian refugee community settled in the intervention area. -       Identify good practices and the practices needing improvement among the Syrian community. -       In collaboration with the nutrition head of project and field officer participate to the analysis of the assessment results. -       Support the Head of Project for writing the assessment report. Objective 2: Nutrition project identification sites Activities : -       Support the head of project for the definition of the assessment strategy. -       In collaboration with the Head of Project and Field Officer participate to the assessment and identification of future implementation sites of the nutrition project. -       Support the Head of Project on analysis and on writing the identification report. Objective 3: Implementation of nutrition activities: Activities : -       In collaboration with the head of project and field officer plan, organize and realize training of the Hygiene Promotion on IYCF. -       In collaboration with the head of project and field officer support the Hygiene promotion team for the integration of IYCF messages in their activities. -       In collaboration with the head of project and field officer plan, organize and realize training of the Hygiene Promotion on nutritional screening. -       In collaboration with the head of project and field officer support the Hygiene promotion team for the implementation of the screening activity. -       Collect and analyse data about screening with the support of the head of project. -       Participate to any other nutrition activities who could be identify according to the beneficiaries need such as: -            Nutrition sessions for the beneficiaries about adequate feeding practices. -            Breastfeeding support (increase breast milk production, re-lactation after stop breastfeeding, training and supervision of manual expression of breast milk). Objective 4: Participate in collecting information on the beneficiaries’ needs in terms of psychosocial and mental health Activities : -          Be capable of identifying the most vulnerable groups of individuals in need of psychological help. -          Observe and collect information during the programme activity sessions on the beneficiaries’ needs in terms of mental health. -          Include this information systematically in each activity report. -          Refer and follow-up beneficiaries needing psychosocial/psychological support Objective 5: Regular screening in intervention area Activities : -          With the assistance of Nutrition fields Officers, check the children’s state of health, measure the MUAC and test for oedema. -          Inform the parents of the nutritional status of their child. -          Refer and follow-up malnourish cases to the nearest Primary Health Care (PHC) centres or the Hospital.   Objective 6: Team management Activities : -          Participate in recruiting staff if needed; -          Define professional objectives of the team ; -          Assess training or other support needed for the team;   Objective 7: Reporting Activities : -          Realize a monthly report -          Collect and analyze team reports -          Participate to external reports if needed     Phase 2 (Implementation phase)   Objective 1: Needs analysis and adapting approaches to cultural context: Activities: -       In collaboration with field officer and social workers, assess on a regular basis IYCF practices among the Syrian refugee community settled in the intervention area; -       Identifying good practices and the practices that need improvement among the Syrian community and adapt the program tools accordingly.   Objective 2: Set up and follow up of IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) and Psychosocial Support Program Activities: -       Participate in defining activity planning -       Participate in defining activities tools -       Identify and analyse the on-going of activities and propose changes if needed. -       Ensure initial and on-going training of staff in charge of the activities on Infant and Young Children Feeding practices, breastfeeding support psychosocial support and community mobilization -       Follow-up of nutrition activities (group session, breastfeeding support, growth monitoring, screening…), psychosocial & psychological activities and community-based activities. -       Collect data on the activities and analyse them -       Participate and set up any other nutrition activities that could be identify according to the beneficiaries needs or linked to the nutritional situation.   Objective 3: Program Management and coordination -       Elaborating the monthly treasury forecast of the activities of the program and to transmit it to the Admin Base in the respect of the fixed terms. -       Identifying and collaborating with the department of logistics in the definition of the requests of materials, forecasted in the donor’s contract and according to the program’s needs. -       Weekly and monthly report -       Donors report -       Liaise authorities and take contacts with the local health system in order to ensure the on-going and eventual development of the activities. -       Coordination with others ACF program -       Participate to external coordination if requested.   Objective 4: Team Management Activities: -       Organizing team meeting -       Participate in recruiting staff; -       Define professional objectives; -       Evaluate team training needs and realize the training   Objective 5: Reporting and coordination Activities : -          Realize a monthly report -          Collect and analyze team reports -          Participate to external reports if needed -          Participate to meetings with other nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) on the one hand, to inform them of ACF work on nutrition/mental health and, on the other hand, to be informed of the progress of other NGOs in this field.     Due to the emergency context, the assistant Head of Project can be requested to participate to any other nutrition, mental health and care practices activities who could be identify according to the beneficiaries needs and the humanitarian situation

Bachelor degree in Nutrition and Dietetic or in nursing or in Public Health. Experience on project implementation and management is request. Knowledge in Infant and Young Children Feeding and on Psychosocial support will be highly appreciated
