Trainer On Painting & Graffiti Activities

                                 Terms of Reference Trainer on painting & graffiti activities     In the framework of the project “Cooperation and dialogue for peace with municipalities and Lebanese and Syrian youth in Akkar“, funded by the French Embassy, Mada Association is seeking a graffiti and painting artist who will facilitate 24 sessions in 3 villages (8 sessions in each village, for a period of 2 months) with youth groups. The objectives of these sessions being: -      Consolidation of the groups, -      Development of the youth’s artistic and creative skills, -      Supporting the youth in the creation of a wall graffiti in their villages, -      Enabling the youth to themselves organize and develop future, similar activities within their communities, Main work interfaces -      Internal interfaces -      Project Coordinator -      Field Officer -      Administrator -      External interfaces -      Municipalities members and local NGOs -      Project Steering Committee -      Syrian and Lebanese Youth   main Responsibilities   Identifying the material needed for the preparation and implementation of the graffiti.   1)  Session Content -      Presenting the objectives of the activity and emphasizing its importance, -      Indentifying, together with the municipality and youth, the location where the activity will take place, -      Presenting the basics of painting, photo choosing, color selection, -      Delivering basic graffiti skills, -      Preparation of the selected  wall in order to start the implementation of the activity, -      Selecting  pictures related to the objectives of the project with the help of the youth & steering committee, -      Supporting the youth in the concept and development of the graffiti.   2)  Expected Results   -      Close collaboration of Lebanese and Syrian youth with the steering committee and the members of the municipality,  -      Positive and productive interactions between Lebanese and Syrian youth, -      Acquisition of graffiti skills, -      Learning to  cooperate patiently in the workplace, -      Learning the basics of painting and of photo choosing. Evaluation of Workshop   -      By the end of 4 training sessions, the graffiti and painting artist will evaluate the progress of the workshop together with Mada’s team. -      The youth will be engaged in the evaluation: success stories, challenges, expectations, and concerns will be shared. Education and knowledge required -      Bachelor of Arts Degree (or equivalent diploma) in graphic design, illustration, or any related field. -      Experienced knowledge in painting techniques, graffiti, color usage, etc. -      Computer skills: Office Package -      Languages: Arabic, French Skills required -      Excellent social and interpersonal skills -      Experience in awareness raising and in motivating deprived communities -      Good knowledge of the area and its local habits -      Excellent written and verbal communication skills -      Involvement and commitment -      Diplomatic skills: representing Mada’s non-religious, non-political and non-sectarian principles and respect for diversity and gender   Geographical Location 3 villages in AKKAR: Hrar, Mechmech & Korneh   Mission duration February, March, 2014
