Base Security & Logistic Officer - Tyre

Within the framework of the initiatives promoted in the Palestinian camps and surrounding areas in Tyre, Saida and Tripoli in support of people affected by the Syrian crisis and funded by ECHO, TdH It is looking for a Security Officer to join our team in order to ensure adequate security risk management and logistic support in the field. Main duties and responsibilities Security Conduct continuous security assessments and threat analysis of operating environment and through collecting information from relevant sources in the area of operation Attend security meetings and prepare security reports Inform and update staff on security developments and condition Liaise with the Security Advisor in Beirut Provide regular/daily SITREP report, briefings and updates to the team Send incidents reports to the Project Manager Liaise with other NGO’s, UN agencies, government bodies and attend relevant security meetings Explore all possible sources of information Liaise with the local partner Monitor staff movements tracking systems and provide regular info to staff on safety of their movement, especially when moving to the field Logistics Follow up and monitoring organization vehicles are done in timely manner (usage, periodic, non –periodic maintenance, communication with suppliers) Follow up procedures at local level to obtain permissions, when required, to implement activities Support Procurement and administrative procedures in coordination and under the supervisor Support the implementation of the minimum security management procedures and standards in the area of operations under the supervisor of the PM Liaise with the local authorities and inform them about the distribution schedule Be present during distributions in order to maximize staff and resources safety Contribute towards staff capacity building Other duties as required. The qualified candidate must be flexible in this regard Coordination/Supervision The Security & Logistic Officer will work closely with the Project Manager/head of base, and coordinates with the Field responsible and the Finance officer ensure correct and continuous data flow and support to the Country delegate and Project Manager work provide information and feedback to Terre des Hommes Country delegate  (through the national Security Officer) in order to follow-up the security condition and elaborate the country weekly SITREP support with his information and data the enforcement of security and  advice to the country delegate anf the management staff and management in order to support the safe and efficient delivery of activities in area of operations. Qualifications, experience and competencies At least college degree in a field related in Social Sciences, Law or Security Management or equivalent experience in a related field. At least two years of experience working as security officer or related position. Documented equivalent combination of relevant experience and formal education may be considered appropriately. Good command of Arabic and English. Good working knowledge of French and Italian are an asset (please mention it in the CV) Good attention to detail and has an analytical mindset. Good communication skills, both oral and written.
