Overview & Background
World Vision Lebanon - Beirut area development program is split into four programmatic interventions spanning across seven municipalities. These Area Development Programmes (ADPs) cover the geographical areas of Ain el Remaneh, Chiah, Ghobeiry, Fern el Chebak, Bourj Hammoud, Nabaa, Jdedieh and surrounding areas. Social development interventions that are part of those programmes focus on the following sectors: education and life skills, health, peace building and child sponsorship. Beirut area programmes are currently going through a redesign and restructuring process that will result in having one Beirut Area citywide programme that is issue based as compared to the multiple foci and sectors-based approach of the past. This is a process that represents an opportunity for learning for the Global World Vision partnership specifically in citywide programming, citywide youth and children engagement and intervention frameworks, community mobilization project models, design and redesign processes, to name few.
