Media & Communication Officer

Strategic Tasks: Under the guidance of the HOM the MCO has to assist in the planning and implementation of IRL Media policy and activities. Positively promote the aims and objectives of Islamic Relief among external audiences. Seek every reasonable opportunity to develop brand awareness of the IRL logo. Develop partnership relationships to involve IRL in Joint Media events. Network and strengthen IRL’s profile and reputation in a variety of settings, including developing stronger links with the general public. Responsible for developing, maintaining and updating the relevant pages of IRL’s website. Achieve coverage of IRL operations and projects& its concerns across a range of media and general public. Under the guidance of the (HOM), speaks on behalf of IRL at meetings and conferences. Input Media element to procurement policy where appropriate and Liaise with Major suppliers to ensure they are aware of the non-profit making status of the organization in order to secure minimum expenditure during procurement. Field Tasks: Maintain and update all Media information from project activities. Promote IRL links with the media. Contact journalists and other media actors in order to gain coverage for IRL operations, projects, campaign and other key news areas Manage the IRL media database. Write, proof and edit articles for a range of media. Occasionally address public meetings on IRL. Participate in Public Presentations and Events. Ensure the provision of all visibility requirements in the field work. Manage the design & print promotional material such brochures, calendars etc. Manage the production of various promotional videos on behalf of IRL. Maintain the archives of news on IRL & video material. Maintain media coverage such as photographing, montage. Designing banners based on donor’s requirement Carry out such other related duties as may be assigned or required from time to time.
