Erm- Health Field Officer

General objective In collaboration with the health team, the field officer is responsible for implementing in the Informal Tented Shelters (ITS) the ERM-Health strategy in terms o f health assessments, identification and training of Focal Points (FP) and Community Leaders (CL) to the ERM-Health Surveillance System, follow-up of reported cases and regular field visits, and organisation of health promotion sessions. The Field Officer works in the field and in the office with respect of PU-AMI overall principles.   Responsibilities and tasks   Health Assessments -            With the Team Leader, participates in the identification of ITS to be assessed and priorisation of assessments -            Performs regular mapping and need assesment in ITS -            Identifies the PHCs located in the vicitiny of assesssed ITS and performs the assessment of PHC -            Prepares training material and tools for the FP and CL training -            Conducts the training of identified FP and CL -            Collects information on FP and CL with regards to material to be distributed amongst them (Surveillance                         material, Boots, Raincoats) -            Distributes material to FP and CL and checks whether replenishment is needed   Detection of health signals and Referral -            Maintains weekly contact with the FP in targeted ITS and seeking information on diseases under surveillance. -            Visits regularly the ITS where an FP and or the CL has been trained; is in regular and direct contact with                          beneficiaries, collects complaints and suggestions. -            Ensures transmission of notification/alert about diseases under surveillance are transmistted to the Team                      Leader within stipulated reporting period. -            Following dispatch by Team Leader, visits ITS where a health signal has been reported and delivers "pack" of                  ERM-Health activities: active case finding, simple case management, health promotion session, and referral to                closest health facility. -            Collects all information related to a health signal with ERM-Health monitoring documents and follows up on each              case with Field Officer based in Beirut. -            Reports follow up information to Team Leader, and completes data collection with Field Officer in charge of                    logbook.   Health promotion activity -            On the basis of information collected in the ITS and regular visits, and after validation from the Team Leader                organises ad hoc health promotion sessions with the material developed by the ERM-Health team. -            In the frame of the health promotion session, introduces and distributes IEC material to FP and/ or CL. -            Reports to Team Leader specific hygiene topics which should be covered by the Wash team.   Monitoring and reporting -            Implements active data collections using the PU-AMI data tools for monitoring and reporting for health                          information system -            With Team Leader's help, writes ITS health assessment reports and PHC assessment reports; analyses the                    data collected and field constraints in order to understand public health situation -            Reports directly to Team Leader -            Accomplishes any other tasks assigned by the Health Team Leader   Strategy involvment -            Participates in the development of ERM-Health data collection tools -            Participates in the development of IEC tools -            Participates in the training of new field officers in the ERM-Health team (assessment tools, IEC material, data                collection tools, introduction to ITSs, etc.) -            Keeps informed about overall refugee situation in Akkar and Saida and INGO activity by reading documents                    ditributed by Team Leader and PM.   Working Behaviour -            Respects the confidentiality of the beneficiaries -            Reports any difficulty or issue to the Health Team Leader
