The Lebanon Civic Support Initiative (LCSI) project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through a contract with Chemonics International. The project provides grants to a variety of institutions in Lebanon, including international and Lebanese non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community based organizations, or informal groups, to implement project activities.
Chemonics seeks a local Lebanese security analyst/coordinator for the ongoing USAID-funded Lebanon Civic Support Initiative (LCSI). The security analyst/coordinator will provide security guidance to approximately 20 field staff; track, analyze, and maintain staff informed of political and security incidences and events; coordinate vehicles and field visits and recommend alternate routes when needed; provide training to staff on safe practices and security procedures; contribute to the project's security platform and emergency plans, and recommend updates on an ongoing basis; conduct security assessments of project sites; and contribute to written security reporting as needed. This position is anticipated to last roughly one year and is based in Beirut, with additional travel throughout Lebanon required.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience working with international organizations or donors in Lebanon
Security and logistics experience preferred
Ability to maintain contact and exchange information with other organizations regarding the fluid environment in Lebanon
Ability to travel throughout Lebanon
Oral and written fluency in English and Arabic required
