The primary responsibilities of the Internal Controller are to:
Assisting the Audit Committee in the preparation of the organization financial statements;
Working and attending regular meetings with the Audit Committee respecting their mandate;
Overseeing the preparation of the organization's quarterly financial statements;
Assessing the performance of the auditors and making recommendations to the Audit Committee regarding possible changes;
Ensuring that the auditors have full and unrestricted access to required information;
Overseeing all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, and tax and audit functions;
Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with Executive Director;
Studies, analyzes and reports on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future organization growth.
The Internal Controller should have the following qualifications:
A minimum of 8, preferably 10 years’ experience in a senior role.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
Up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications.
Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills.
