Child Protection Project Manager

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:  The Child Protection Project Manager will report to the Protection Sector Manager and oversee the implementation of the Advancing Psychosocial Support and Child Protection of Syrian Refugees in Lebanon (APSCP) program by providing technical support and guidance to field area managers, officers, contractors and partners as they implement multi-layered PSS support services in North Beqaa, West Beqaa and Nabitiyeh. Interventions include: Child Friendly Spaces including Mercy Corps’ modules “Moving Forward” and “Comfort for Kids” Parent support groups and self care sessions Direct PSS support to vulnerable children and their families Community awareness raising activities regarding Child Protection in Emergencies, GBV and Psychosocial Support The Child Protection Project Manager will have some office oversight responsibilities in coordination with the field-based Area Manager and the Beirut-based Protection Sector Manager, Operations Manager and the local operations team. S/He will be responsible for coordinating with government and international and national NGOs working in the child protection and psychosocial support sectors to promote protection standards in policies and program activities, including coordinated referral mechanisms.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Team Management Supervise field teams and guide work planning focused on outcomes; Ensure programming is being implemented according to minimum standards and indicators are being met in order to meet project deliverables;  Identify in coordination with the area managers and psychosocial advisors training needs for team members and local partners for program quality and accountability; identify professional resources; and encourage peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing and other forms of staff capacity-building.  Project Management Provide technical support for the child protection program through support to field staff and partner organizations; Establish and maintain effective project reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems for both internal and external use; Provide feedback to local partners and report periodically to the M&E team for tracking purposes. Identify and support mechanisms for effective project monitoring and evaluation efforts and systems for information sharing internally and externally. Other duties as assigned;  Representation Liaise with key stakeholders to disseminate findings and identify additional support to communities and individuals to address child protection needs and threats identified through program activities Identify local organizations or groups working to resolve child protection concerns within their communities and oversee strategic, technical, and operational support to those organizations or groups; Support the development of service provision referral mechanisms with local partners, national ministries, and other actors;
