Background - The Gender Based Violence Case Worker (GBV CW) is a key position in the SGBV project, ensuring the provision of comprehensive and appropriate case management support services available to vulnerable women and girls, including survivors of gender based violence (GBV), in an emergency context. General duties and responsibilities: - The GBV CW will be responsible to manage the overall GBV Case Management component of the Sexual Gender Based Violence project in one of the targeted district of Beirut. - The GBV CW works directly with the targeted girls, boys and women in the INTERSOS Centres (SDC, CC or other identified premises). - GBV CW liaises directly to the other service providers working within the premise in which INTERSOS has implemented the current project or to nearby other service providers (health and /or legal providers, etc.) who supports refugee and host community most vulnerable women, families and children. - Ensures that Survivor Centered Approach Guiding principles are understood, enacted, maintained and enforced in the INTERSOS Centers. - Is the visible link between the INTERSOS Centre, multi-sectoral service providers and the whole community, Syrian refugee and host Lebanese Community. In Child and Women Centers: Case Management: the GBV CW is to: - Contribute within the centers to the identification of at risk girls, boys and women. - Support GBV at risk individuals or survivors by referring them when necessary and in respect of their consent to other service providers (health, legal counseling and representation or shelter, etc). - Provide direct support and care for vulnerable women and girls (including survivors of gender based violence), including counseling and basic case management. Case management services will include: • Assessment of needs, developing an action plan, implementing the plan, appropriate following and case closure (if and when appropriate). Provide direct age-appropriate and specialized support and care for vulnerable adolescent and young women (including survivors of GBV), including counseling and case management. Case management services for survivors under the age of 18 will include the above steps of case management along with: • Best Interest Determination (BID), Age appropriate engagement and decision-making by survivors, Do No Harm analysis. Administration: - In strict reporting to the Filed Activities Coordinator, ensuring that a monthly expenditure sheet is prepared and delivered to INTERSOS National GBV Coordinator for: process in acquiring Purchase Requests and Payment Vouchers for the Unconditional Cash Assistance for at risk Children and their care givers and SGBV Survivors. - Ensure that all other relevant financial documentation is completed accurately as required. Reporting: - Informs CP and GBV National Coordinators about any difficulty met in INTERSOS activities implementation. - Work closely with the Information Management Officer to collect and share the GBV case management intake forms and analyze the reported cases. - Support the maintenance of the INTERSOS’s case management system and the GBV Information Management System (GBVIMS). • The overall management of the GBVIMS is to be done is strict respect of the mentioned 4 guiding principles and stored in a safe and confidential place. - Provide in respect of planed timeline, the projects activities (weekly report of daily activities) and prepare a monthly report and evaluation of trend analysis. This is to be shared with GBV National Coordinator and the Prevention coordinator. Meeting: - Be available to participate in meeting in the centre or in Tyre INTERSOS Office. - Be available for eventual training provided by INTERSOS and provide technical support to the INTERSOS’s CP social workers through punctual training on GBV issues. - Meet with CP’s project relevant staff members as required: conducts weekly CP and GBV CW coordination meetings (within the Child Friendly Spaces or other identified premises). - Coordination and representation: attend the bi-weekly Protection / GBV coordination meetings in Hosh UNHCR premise when required. - Participate in bi-weekly supervisory meetings with GBV National Coordinator to ensure adherence to standards of care and appropriate case management. - Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partners by liaising and seeking collaboration with other INGO and NGO promoting a holistic approach to case management. A high degree of flexibility on the part of all staff is expected in order to respond to the ever-evolving situation. This job description may change based on the situation in the field. He/she can be asked required to perform other related duties as identified by his supervisor.
