Gender Based Violence (Gbv) Case Worker

- The GBV CW under the supervision of and in coordination with the Protection Officer will be responsible for managing the GBV Case Management component including the database registrations and GBV Information Management System (GBVIMS) of the Sexual Gender Based Violence project in the Beirut Office or in one of the 3 targeted districts of Mount Lebanon Office (Aley, Badbaa, Chouf). - Identifies cases of concern (girls, boys and women) in the INTERSOS Centres (Child Friendly Spaces, Community Centres or other identified premises) liaising directly with other service providers present in the area (health and /or legal providers, etc.) who support refugee and host community most vulnerable women, families and children. - Assists in the developing of services mapping and functional referral pathways. - Ensures that Survivor-Centred Approach Guiding principles are applied in the INTERSOS Centres corresponding appropriately to age and gender needs with specialized counselling support for GBV survivors (young children, adolescents and women) respecting the principles of confidentiality and do no harm. - Serves as Focal Point together with the Child Protection Case Worker for the INTERSOS Centre, the multi-sector service providers and the Syrian refugee and host Lebanese Community. - Conducts interviews, needs assessment and assists in Best Interest Assessments (BIA), develops in collaboration with the Protection Officer individual case management action plans and indicates cases for BID to the CP Case Worker, ensures implementation, referrals, follow-up and case closures (if and when appropriate) in a timely manner. - Ensures regular monitoring with follow-up and reviews progress of cases. - Supports counselling and general case management services. - Supports the Social Workers Team as well as the Mobile Team Community Mobilizers (for both CP and Gender Based Violence-GBV activities) organizing awareness sessions in the community. - Works in close collaboration with the Psychologist to develop adapted and contextualized GBV awareness messages to parents, families, key actors and communities (host and refugee). - Reports progress achieved and provides feed back of cases respecting confidentiality standards on weekly and/or monthly basis using the evaluation of trend analysis to be shared with GBV National Coordinator and the Prevention Coordinator. - Builds and maintains partnerships and collaboration with other GBV partners and relevant stakeholders. - Supports the updating of INTERSOS case management/database and the GBV Information Management System (GBVIMS). - Performs further related duties requested by his supervisor. Skills/Competences: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to tailor language, tone, style and format to match the audience; • Respect confidentiality standards and the dignity of beneficiaries, demonstrating and safeguarding ethics and integrity. • Familiarity with case-management systems and databases. • Familiarity with human rights and gender related protection issues especially focused on violence, exploitation and abuse of girls, boys and women. • Excellent organizational skills, independent, disciplined, with initiative and an ability to work under pressure and to prioritize work; • Previous experience in Counselling or Social Work highly desirable; • Knowledge and understanding of the Middle East context • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a multicultural environment; • Ability to treat persons of concern with dignity, respect and confidentiality; • Ability to handle sensitive situations diplomatically. • Flexibility is expected in order to respond to the ever-evolving situation
