Reproductive Health Officer

The primary responsibility of the Reproductive Health Officer is to coordinate and supervise sexual and reproductive health activities, liaise with partners in reproductive health and provide reproductive health expertise and guidance for the health personnel in the projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direct technical supervision of the Medical Coordinator and the overall supervision and guidance of the Country Director, the Reproductive Health Officer will act as the technical focal/resource point for IMC’s sexual and reproductive health activities and will coordinate with partners working in the field of health. S/he will provide technical support on planning, organization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the SRH activities and coordinate assessments of innovative RH interventions in community settings. S/he should Ensure that the RH health needs of women, girls, men and boys are fully integrated in to the IMC Lebanon Health Programs; Coordinate emergency reproductive health interventions, including Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) and establishing comprehensive RH activities; Represent the organization at Reproductive Health sub-cluster Meetings or other RH coordination meetings; Establish referral mechanism for obstetric complications and gender based violence, including implementation of clinical pathway for treatment of sexual assault survivors; Ensure proper data collection of RH indicators through implementing a system for reporting the outcomes and compilation of data on activities from all projects Ensure all RH activities are in line with national protocols and RH policies and guidelines are well understood by IMC-supported technical and health facility staff; Support supply chain management for RH services, including supporting procurement and management of RH commodities and supplies; Identify RH program development opportunities through identifying local RH partners, establishing relationships with Ministry of Health and assessing opportunities for comprehensive RH programming; Ensure that all RH documentation is accurate and up to date, including partner notification, testing and treatment records also ensure that health facility staff and partners have access to and are complying with the latest MoPH best practice RH Guidelines Ensure planning and preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and end of project activities and reports and submit timely reports on field activities to Medical Coordinator Assist in selection and training of qualified program field staff; Review and approve SRH budget lines. Assist in developing IEC materials and TOT training courses to Community Health Workers and medical staff at the IMC-supported health facilities; Make frequent site visits to health facilities to ensure that appropriate care is being provided to the target population; Analyze the health reports from the PHC facilities and Hospitals and develop recommendations for RH interventions; Work with Area Managers and Medical Coordinator to ensure the quality of care is provided according to IMC projects. Assist Country team to plan and prepare proposals for potential program/donor funding and/or contribute to health program proposal development as well as budgeting Provide and coordinate training of MISP to IMC-supported health facility staff QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Advanced health degree with focus on RH, MPH or clinical background preferred Minimum of 2 years experience managing reproductive health programs in low resource/emergency settings a plus Certified in MISP, experience with adolescents SRH and GBV preferred; Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with outstanding interpersonal skills with proven ability to work diplomatically and in harmony within a team. Experience in writing reproductive health proposals is an asset. Demonstrated ability to train and develop training modules and job aids NGO experience is an asset; Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently Extremely flexible and ability to cope with stressful situations Ability to relate to and motivate local staff Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is essential.
