Clinical psychologist for children:
Undertakes specialist psychological interventions and formulates psychological treatment plans. Selects, administers and interprets psychological tests.
Contributes to the effective working of the team and to a psychologically informed framework for the service area.
Communicates skillfully and sensitively with beneficiaries, colleagues and referring agencies taking account of sensory and cultural barriers to communication.
Receives regular clinical and professional supervision from a more senior psychologist.
Contributes to the development and improvement of the service through participating in appropriate projects, under supervision of a more senior psychologist.
Maintains the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing, according to professional and Trust guidelines.
Qualifications:
Have a degree in clinical psychology
Experience in implementing culturally appropriate mental health interventions with, including individual, group and community based approaches for children who have suffered violence and trauma.
Skilled at carrying out needs assessment and program evaluations.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in unpredictable, politically unstable, isolated environment.
Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and needs. Skilled at working as a member of a team.
Sensitivity, compassion, good communication skills, and the ability to inspire others are particularly important qualities for persons wishing to do clinical work and counseling.
Ability to keep confidential information on tools, techniques and clients data at the center.
