Emergency Response Team Leader - Zahle

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006.  DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon and the Bekaa, since May 2011. Assistance is provided through the distribution of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. DRC is inviting local candidates to apply for the position of Emergency Response Team Leader - Zahle, to support its activities under the project “Emergency Response for Displaced Syrians in Bekaa”.   Responsibilities:  Main Tasks: Preparing, monitoring and evaluating the Emergency Response Assistants activities and their daily chores  Set up the assessment plan for the ERAs and assign their tasks on a daily basis before heading to the field Supervising the work of the ER team providing coaching and support Archiving all the documents relevant to the team’s activities Keep track of the Android devices and help fix all difficulties related to the assessment Communicate with the local partners, municipalities and local authorities in order to get the newcomers lists registered in each village and facilitate our ERAs daily duty calls throughout the area Organize weekly visits to the field and to our local connections in order to maintain good relations Collaborate with the local Focal Points Coordinate with the Distribution Team Leader to start an information desk at every distribution center, track specific cases       and enhance the quality of work Reporting: Report back verbally as often as needed to the Emergency Response Officer on the progress of the work. Write an evaluation report on the Assessment process (achievements, statistics, challenges, recommendations etc…) Provide relevant input for daily, weekly and monthly reports Provide the ERAs Daily Report   Monitoring & Evaluation: Ensure/facilitate the qualitative and quantitative monitoring and evaluation of all the Newcomers activities Other: Fulfill any other duties requested and/or needed by the Line Manager, Project Manager, Programme Manager or the Country Director. Qualifications & Experience: University  degree, preferably related to social work Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience NGO experience Experience in emergency work Excellent interpersonal skills   Required Skills: Ability to lead and manage groups Good communication skills Commitment to the values, vision and mission of DRC Good computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Self-motivation and strong team spirit Well-developed organizational and planning skills Ability to speak, read and write well in Arabic and English
