Background Mercy Corps will implement Child Friendly Space programs in Nabatiyeh from August to December 2013. This evaluation is focused on documenting the impact of these interventions on children’s social and emotional well-being, sense of security and protection and – where appropriate – acquisition of skills and competences.   Objectives The evaluation aims at answering the following questions: How effective are CFS in providing a protective environment for children vulnerable to abuse, exploitation or violence? How effective are CFS in providing psychosocial support to children? How effective are CFS in mobilizing and equipping communities and carers to fulfill their roles to protect and care for children?   Responsibilities Upon successful completion of training, each enumerator will work with a team and team supervisor in the collection of high-quality interviews with primary caregivers and children over the age of 10 years. Approximately 16 days of data collection is required in the month of August, including training and weekend work. A total of 1-2 CFS are planned to take part in the evaluation. This is based on an estimate about children accommodated by each CFS, and is still subject to change, depending on security, local logistics and other relevant factors which need to be taken into account.   Qualifications Reads and writes classical Arabic, preferably Syrian colloquial Arabic. Have basic knowledge and believe in child protection issues. Comfortable to work with children. Have good communication skills. Able to work as a member in a team. Have general knowledge about smart phones. Preferably holding a degree in psychology, social science or teaching.
