Senior Program Coordinator

PURPOSE The Cross-Cultural Studies Department (CCSD) at Adyan Foundation is looking for a dynamic Senior Program Coordinator who can contribute to the empowerment of leaders in education from Lebanese and Arab societies, through the management of trainings and expert seminars, as well as the coordination of the development of educational resources related to topics as citizenship and the management of cultural and religious diversity. The Senior Program Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing these projects and activities in accordance with their objectives and their Key performance indicators.   CROSS-CULTURAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT (CCSD) Adyan is a Lebanese independent NGO working in the field of intercultural, interreligious dialogue and understanding and promoting coexistence and inclusive citizenship in pluralistic societies. The Cross-Cultural Studies Department at Adyan Foundation works at the local, regional and international levels through different sectors:   Academic programs: online and offline courses   E-learning and face-to-face courses  Continuing education for professionals  Trainings and capacity building for youth, educators…  Conferences and seminars for experts and policy makers  Consultancy, Research and publication   Study trips         MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Program Coordinator will: Be Responsible for the planning and organization of the program’s activities that are under his/her responsibility (international training seminars, expert seminars, expert and consultant meetings ) Be the main contact point for the donors, the partners, the program’s staff, the consultants/experts, the beneficiaries (participants to the training seminars), the contractual experts (producers, translators…) Lead and motivate the program’s teams and monitor program’s activities and expenditure and coordinate work with experts, consultants, participants and volunteers in the programs Identify and ensure close collaboration and coordination with regional and local partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results Develop all the documents related to the organization of the program’s activities (concept paper, program, invitation letter, call for participation…) Be Responsible for submitting activity reports, meeting minutes and financial reports on regular basis to the internal Management and the donors, and prepare the new funding requests   Manage the visibility of the program and maintain updated the web pages and online platforms related to his/her work, in collaboration with the Communicate and Media Officer   Employ resourcefulness in program design, implementation and monitoring, Trouble shoot project problems and Identify and implement creative solutions Ensure Program activities comply with the policies and regulations of the foundation and the donors     REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS AND PROTOCOL OF COMMUNICATION    The Senior Program Coordinator reports to the director of CCSD and participates to regular meetings with him/her   The Senior Program Coordinator collaborates with the administration manager and a Financial coordinator for the financial work and budget control and other administrative affairs  The Program manager collaborates with the Communication and Media Officer for the program’s communication plans and their implementation  The Senior Program Coordinator is part of the Adyan operational team and participates to the CFT (Cross-functional team) meetings lead by the foundation’s CEO.   REQUIREMENTS Education and experience  A university degree (preferably Masters) in Education, Political Science, or a related field in Humanities, Religious Studies or Social Sciences and with interest and knowledge about citizenship issues and cultural diversity  A minimum of 3 years work experience in  the management of projects in a similar or related field  Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus.  Computer skills (excellent in Office: Word, Excel…, Internet communication and navigation)   Skills  Leadership and strong capacity for planning and organization   Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure  Ability to work and communicate in an international professional framework and abroad   Excellent interpersonal skills, team work and a good listener  Good communication skills  Ability to take initiatives and be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment  Ability to quickly learn and understand an issue and to handle unexpected issues   Qualifications Personal belief in and support of Adyan’s mission and core values Commitment to creating positive environmental, social and cultural change Willingness to learn     JOB SPECIFICATIONS Full time job starting August 2013 Salary: Rank 4.5/7; Defined based on qualifications and experience     APPLICATION PROCEDURE (ONLY BY EMAIL) Send ASAP a full CV/Resume and a short motivation letter via email to: president@adyanvillage.net Shortlisted applications only will be contacted by August 2, 2013.   ADYAN’s MISSION   Adyan works for the clarification of main religious and theological concepts especially in relation with social and political issues.
