Communications Officer

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the incumbent is expected to undertake the following duties: 1. Work with the Program Manager in developing, implementing and monitoring a bi-lingual National Awareness campaign on youth volunteering 2. Design and supervise the implementation of the NVSP communication strategy, including the development of a private sector engagement plan 3. Co-ordinate and deliver a program of on/offline media (including social media, newsletter, journals, etc.) and communication activities to raise the profile of the NVSP and all its components. 4. Liaise and work closely with Private Sector Partners to promote NVSP objectives and ensure proper integration of NVSP activities within Corporate Social Responsibility programs. 5. Research, write and distribute bi-lingual press releases to all media outlets as well as to organize press launches, media focused events, photo calls, design and production of materials in addition to develop the media outlets support for the National Awareness Campaign and the overall outcomes of the NVSP. 6. Write, organize and deliver engaging presentations to a wide range of internal and external audiences and support the Program Manager to ensure that individual projects and elements and the Stakeholder group and partners are kept up to date with developments within the program. 7.Work closely with on-line portal administrator to develop and maintainan attractive online profile for the NVSP (on digital communications and social media) and provide regular updates to raise awareness of the program. 8. Work closely with staff across the program and within the partner organizations to ensure that communication work is coordinated to deliver maximum impact, including media activity, communications with key stakeholders. 9. Contribute to the NVSP management reports and compile statistical data against key performance indicators, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on media coverage. 10. Forecast and monitor the allocated budget for the National Awareness campaign and provide updates as required and in coordination with the Financial Officer. 11.Carry out any other duties as required, within the context and grade of this consultancy.
