International Medical Corps rehabilitates devastated health care systems and helps bring them back to self-reliance. Duties and responsibilities: ? Provide leadership and facilitate the processes that will ensure a well coordinated, coherent, strategic, and effective WASH response in Northern Syrian by agencies, organizations, NGOs, local communities etc. on the ground. ? Ensure accountability of the technical group is attained through the combined efforts of him/herself and participating agencies of the WASH Sector Group. ? Ensure inclusion of key WASH humanitarian partners in a way that respects their mandates and programme priorities. ? Establish and maintain appropriate humanitarian coordination amongst relevant stakeholders in WASH responses, including effective links and representation with other sectoral and inter-agency coordination groups. ? Manage up-to-date information on all current and potential WASH partners, their capacities and areas of work (including 3W/4W). ? Facilitate agreement and coordinate guidance on technical designs and approaches. ? Ensure that attention is paid to priority cross-cutting issues such as protection, gender, and the environment. ? Advocate on behalf of the WASH group, as agreed, for necessary resource mobilization. ? Ensure the inclusion of all key humanitarian partners in the WASH sector coordination group. ? Facilitate WASH sector coordination with the aim to: • Promote standardized methods, tools and formats for common use for needs assessments and analysis; • Ensure adequate WASH related contingency planning and preparedness for potential significant changes in the nature of the emergency; • Encourage the application of minimum technical standards: • Support efforts to strengthen the WASH capacity of the national/local authorities and civil society; • Share surveillance and monitoring of public health indicators. • Identify water, sanitation, or hygiene-related health issues/hotspots and outbreaks. • Verify standards and support needed for WASH and health care waste management in health care settings. • Formulate coordinated strategies for vector control and hygiene promotion outreach.   Qualifications: Relevant degree qualification e.g. Civil or Public Health Engineering, Public Health (MPH), Environmental Health. Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional work experience, with at least 2 years responding to first phases of an emergency, including in conflict situations. Experience in inter-agency coordination of technical responses in humanitarian assistance. Ability to pro-actively build rapport with individuals and groups, and maintain an effective network of individuals across organizational departments. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Very strong planning and organisational skills. Familiar with the application of up-to-date relevant technical standards, approaches, and guidelines (WASH and project cycle management). Able to work under pressure, meeting deadlines.
