Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC, Health and Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter, and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Beirut, Tripoli, Akkar and Bekaa: ROLE PURPOSE: The Health and Nutrition Coordinator will be responsible for the realization of the Emergency Health and Nutrition (H&N) programme in the field. Responsibilities include participation in technical assessments, collection of health and nutrition data, implementation, monitoring, documentation and reporting of the project, as well as supervision of the health team, contributing to overall health and nutrition program, its appropriateness and quality. As the emergency H&N intervention is integrated within a multi-sectoral response along with NFI, Food Security, Shelter, Education and Child Protection, the Emergency H&N Officer will link closely with other respective sectors to ensure maximum possible integration of the project activities.   KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   Work towards effective,      timely and quality implementation of the emergency Health &Nutrition      programme, including developing the field implementation plan Work directly in the field      with children, youth, families and other stakeholders of the project      location he/ she is allocated to, ensuring that information and support      provided to beneficiaries is appropriate and reaching the most vulnerable Be actively involved in      project planning, in regular communication with Health and Nutrition      Advisor and line manager/field manager Responsible for all health      activities in the field: within the primary health care centres; household      visits; health awareness sessions and distributions Strengthen and maintain      links with other sectors Participate in health and      nutrition assessments as required Collect information      regarding the overall health and nutrition situation and needs of the      Syrian refugee children and their families in the community to ensure up      to date knowledge of the health and nutrition situation at field level at      all times Organise and implement/      support the team with the organization and implementation of awareness      sessions for refugee children, adolescents, families (pregnant and      lactating women in particular) and communities at large. Ensure quality of the Health      & Nutrition team activities, including coaching and supporting all      team members as well as ensuring relevant tools/indicators are in place Ensure monitoring plan is in place and applied, and build capacity of the staff carrying out the work including staff at health facilities Performance management/evaluation of  team staff Develop, organise and participate in delivery of trainings Participate in the recruitment of Health and Nutrition field staff Participate in any Health and Nutrition outbreak response/survey or assessment Produce timely reports for internal use on the ongoing activities of the project. Participate in health      working group meetings and any other relevant external meetings and liaise      with UNHCR focal points and other organisations working in the field of      health in country (or in the area assigned) Representation      of Save the Children with visits to the Health & Nutrition programme      activities, by donors, members, management team and other visitors Comply      with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child      protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and      other relevant polices and procedures QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE   Degree in Health or      Nutrition Minimum 2 years      experience in health programs, preferably in public health, reproductive      health or  maternal and child health      care Experience in project coordination,      monitoring, documentation and report writing Experience in field      work and community mobilization Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and      English Training facilitation Computer skills Strength in interpersonal, communication and      presentation skills Flexibility      and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work      in insecure environment  Available to travel in      country   Recommended knowledge and experience: Children’ Rights      /child rights programming Health and nutrition      in emergencies Familiarity with international      standards and guidelines on implementing Health Programs in Emergencies (SPHERE, Red Cross/Crescent Code of Conduct) Familiarity with      refugee communities in country of operation APPLICATION PROCESS   Please note that the closing date for applications is : For External applicants on June 7th.                    The selection committee will review all applications as they are received.
