Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, for its Lebanon Country Office, in the following locations Bekaa:
ROLE PURPOSE: The ECD Officer will set-up and manage the early childhood development and positive parenting programmes ensuring that activities are monitored and delivered to a high quality.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
The key roles and responsibilities for the Early Childhood Development Officer are:

2. Development and implementation of Mother and Child activities
In collaboration with the Child Protection Adviser/Manager, design a strategy, priorities and a detailed work plan for parenting activities.
Design and implement parenting education activities in coordination with other sectors, particularly health (this can be with the support of external consultants and will be implemented by animators)
Adapt materials on parenting to suit local context and priorities
Coordinate parenting education and ECD activities with other sectors
Set up Mother and Child activities in coordination with the PSS officer
Ensure constant and transparent communication and collaboration with relevant community structures and leaders
Supervise and manage the performance of all ECD animators
Support and coach Animators in management of ECD activities and the development of quality children’s activities in the CFS
Ensure quality and minimum protection standards are implemented and respected in all ECD sites, including ensuring all animators and community volunteers have signed and understood the Child Safeguarding policy
Coordinate the participation of ECD Animators in capacity building opportunities
Support the development and delivery of trainings to ECD Animators
Ensure that ECD materials are ordered and delivered to the ECD in a timely manner
Organise monthly meetings with Animators, to share lessons learned and exchange experiences
Document best case practices and case studies
Establishing and maintaining a weekly and monthly work plan which will include monitoring visits to ECD activities on a weekly basis
Write weekly and monthly reports
Oversee ECD monitoring at field level and ensure the collection of quality data
Share information on field-level successes and challenges with the Field Manager and the Child Protection Adviser
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in teaching, social work or social sciences
Extensive work experience of working directly with young children
Experience of having worked in NGOs
Excellent communication skills with young children and parents
Experience in project management and supervision of staff
Ability to write weekly and monthly reports
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and either English or French
