Food Security Supervisor - Saida

    General objective   The Food Security Supervisor participates in the overall coordination and implementation of the Vouchers for Food project activities.     Responsibilities and tasks   Ø Assessment, design and implementation -      To analyze the needs of the beneficiaries in terms of Food security. -      To be in charge of the implementation of the Impact Assessment Survey. -      To select, prepare and organize appropriate and secured distribution sites -      To participate in and supervise the food vouchers distributions with the support of the Project Manager. -      To contribute to the selection of shops and monitor their work to ensure the respect of the contract’s specification -      To participate in the evaluation of the humanitarian situation in the region considering possibilities of new projects.   Ø Analysis and reporting -         To be responsible for a qualitative and regular reporting on various components of the project. -         To participate in the constant evaluation of the project (effectiveness, efficiency, impact, relevance). -         To analyze the security situation in the area and inform the Project Manager on security incidents.   Ø Management -         To manage the Field Officers working on the project regarding Food security activities and monitor their work by constantly visiting the areas of intervention. -         To coordinate and monitor the work of all Field Officers dedicated to these activities. -         To train new Field Officers on the Food security proejct activities -         To identify the weaknesses of the team to work on improving them   Ø Coordination -         To be in charge of the selection of suppliers and monitor their work to ensure the respect of the contract’s specification. -         To participate in the liaison with local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders under delegation from the Project Manager.     The tasks and responsibilities of the Food Security Supervisor mentionned above are not thorough and may be subject to evolve depending on the needs PU-AMI may have.   Supervision   Ø Under the direct supervision of: Food Security Project Manager Ø Direct supervision of: Field Officer Ø Under the overall supervision of: Head of base     QUALIFICATIONS   Mandatory requierements   Ø Language Skills: Fluent in English and Arabic, (speaking/reading/writing). Ø Education Degree: University degree Ø Work experience: Proven experience in NGOs/private companies in Social Work,  Education, Health programs Ø Computer Skills: Good knowledge of the MS office software including Word, Excel, Outlook Ø Other requirement -         Valid driving licence -         Good knowledge of the Hygiene practices and Water born diseases and their transmission vectors. -         Good knowledge of Beirut and Mount Lebanon geography, willing to travel a lot locally   Assets   Ø Other knowledge: Management and pedagogical knowledges Ø Interest: Work in relief, interest for social issues Ø Transversal skills -         Excellent communication and diplomacy skills to manage relationship in potentially tense situations; -         Strong motivation to help people in needs -         Good skills in redaction -         Ability to analyze and suggest amelioration -         Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation within a mission or the organization itself -         Well organized and hard worker -         Able to manage stress and pressure -         Willingness to work on the field -         Able to check information, logical -         Neutral
