Literacy Teacher

SCOPE OF WORK:   The teacher will work at the women’s and girls’ center to provide literacy classes to approximately 15 adult women over a period of 3 months.  The teacher will be responsible for organizing, coordinating and conducting the classes once a week.  The course is intended to increase the skill base of women in the refugee and host communities and support women’s empowerment.   Who this position reports to: WPE Caseworker in Berkayel     RESPONSIBILITIES:   Develop work plan to guide the three month training and lesson plan in collaboration with the WPE Caseworker; Conduct one weekly class for the women at the Women’s center; Prepare lesson materials before lessons; Ensure classes are conducted in a timely manner and students attend on time; Identify challenges faced by students and assist as appropriate; Share identified challenges with the WPE Caseworker; Monitor attendance and follow up with any potential drop-outs; Conduct continuous assessment to monitor progress of students; Provide a report to supervisor as required; Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
