Background
NRC has established a Community Centre for displaced Syrians in Rama, Wadi Khaled and also has centres in the Bekaa (in Saadnayel, Aarsal and Baalbek). NRC is now in the process of establishing a new Community Centre in Minieh. This Community Centre project reaches out to Syrian families in and around the areas of Minieh, Akkar and Tripoli Regions. NRC seeks to provide information and counselling services relating to access to services; documentation and other related matters. NRC also aims to strengthen the understanding of any protection and legal issues faced by those displaced and, in coordination with other actors, identify ways to address these issues.
Job Purpose
The Information Field Officer in Minieh will be primarily responsible for organising ICLA work in the Minieh Community Centre and surrounding areas; providing information to beneficiaries on how to access services; implement assessments (such as focus groups, interviews and questionnaires); assisting in preparing basic information documents; conducting outreach sessions; and participating in other relevant activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
In coordination with ICLA FC (North), organise daily work of ICLA in Minieh Community Centre and extensive outreach work in and around Minieh, including throughout the Akkar and Tripoli regions.
In coordination with ICLA FC (North), organise work of Information Field Assistants in and around Minieh.
Prepare mapping (including written format) of relevant services being provided by other actors and updating it on a weekly basis.
Conduct regular assessments (including focus groups, interviews, questionnaires) in the Centre and in identified areas.
Conduct information sessions for beneficiaries.
Assist in the sensitisation of the Syrian and host communities on the existing ICLA activities.
Prepare information documents for target communities.
Work closely and coordinate activities with ICLA FC (North) and other Community Centre staff.
Receive technical input from ICLA Lebanon team.
Work cooperatively with the beneficiaries and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen the project.
Monitor and follow-up on the quality of services provided at the Centre
Understand activities other institutions working in the same area are carrying out with Syrian refugees and, as agreed with supervisor, attend coordination and protection meetings.
Assist in contributing to the development of referral mechanisms in collaboration with other NGOs, ICLA team and NRC Managers.
Attend and participate in relevant meetings, in coordination with relevant NRC staff.
Assist in designing the needed forms, questionnaires and other templates.
Maintain archiving system up to date (both in hardcopies and electronically).
Report weekly & monthly (or more often, if required) on activities and results to the relevant NRC staff in a timely manner.
Carry out administrative tasks as agreed upon.
Perform any other task as assigned by NRC management.
Experience Required
University education in Law; Legal Services or Social Sciences preferred.
Experience in legal and/or protection work.
At least 3 years of experience in similar positions.
Experience in providing information and counselling services.
Experience in working with community sensitisation.
Ability to work under pressure.

Strong communication (fluency in Arabic and English and organisational skills.
Strong Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
