Medical activities
Plan the need in activities, coordinate and ensure a good course of those activities in accordance to MSF medical policies
Evaluate these activities according to specific indicators
Ensure or coordinate all administrative tasks related to patients (exit-paper, transfer-paper …etc)
In case of emergency, carry out first aid care and treatment according to prior written protocol done by the doctor.
During medical consultations, ensure that sorting and detection of priority acute cases by the Triage nurse is done appropriately.
Human resources management
Daily management of his/her team: week’s schedule, annual leave, absences…etc and problem solving and conflict resolution among the team (in coordination with the Medical Team Leader)
Manage daily and motivate a team of nurses and cleaners.
Supervision of all nursing staff in the project
Define needs for training and ensure staff training, under the supervision of the hierarchical referent
Participate in the evaluation of the nursing staff along with the MTL
Supervise the quality of care (General organisation, development and follow up of technical procedure, Respect of confidentiality)
Ensure nursing staff security, health and mental health and communicate with the MTL
Pharmacy and medical equipment management
Supervise and/or carry out efficiently the pharmacy and medical equipment management
Manage efficiently the pharmacy and medical equipments: drug orders reception, drugs consumption, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, in collaboration with the pharmacy store keeper.
Keep the MTL updated on the drug and equipment stock level and condition
Report to the MTL any possible stock ruptures before its occurrence
Monitoring, analysis and reporting
Participate in the development of the plan of action
Actively monitor and report medical activities (correctly fill in patient files, forms, statistics, reports) and analyse these statistics.
Report immediately to the technical referent any problem arising in the service, especially the loss/ robbery/damage of medical equipment or medicines.
