Admin And Finance Assistant - Tyre

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria to Lebanon,since May 2011. This assistance has been provided in the form of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (including registration, follow-up and awareness sessions), rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. DRC has launched its activities in the South of Lebanon in partnership with the Social Humanitarian Economical Intervention for Local Development (SHEILD),aiming mainly at the provision of non-food items and protection activities in coordination with local and international partners. DRC is inviting local candidates to apply for the position of Admin and Finance Assistant, to support its activities under the project "Regional Emergency Assistance to Populations Affected by the Syrian Crisis”, funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA)   Specific duties and responsibilities:   Finance and Accounting: Daily accounting (bookkeeping) according to the DRC financial handbook Prepare and submit monthly ledgers to the Finance and Admin Officer in Beirut Manage office petty cash Manage office supplies Prepare monthly cash counts Maintain proper filing of all financial documentation (vouchers, contracts, tender documents, etc.) Financial management, including management of cash flow Cash box counting according to the DRC financial handbook Ensuring that budgets and accounts are fully in accordance with donor requirements in coordination with Project Manager or Area Coordinator; Perdiem account for the staff when needed. Request for money transfer when needed from Beirut office Administration: Receive/forward/file correspondence, reply to mails and letters, as per instructions; Do photocopying and other office work. Ensure of proper booking of the inventory; Purchase stationary and other items, as per instructions; Follow up on staff HR requirements (plus Business Cards, Ids, contract, ToRs...) Managing use of vehicles, mobiles and other equipment among staff. Supervising general administration of the Office in Tyre – South Lebanon Reporting: Collect and file all progress reports from the operations/ field staff. Assist the Project Manager in preparing financial reports    Submit progress and status reports to the Project Manager. Assist the Project Manager in follow up with Staff recruitment with Beirut HR.
