- Collect and analyze information about newsworthy events to write news stories for publication or broadcast: Receive assignment or evaluate news leads and news tips to develop story idea.
- Gather and verify factual information regarding story through interview, observation, and research.
- Carry out tours on the field to track corrupted practices and report them
- Hold interviews and meetings with representatives of public administrations
- Create and upload news content for the newspaper website
- 'live' online reporting or real-time blogging when covering important events - a growing area of work, especially on national newspapers
- Follow up on corruption practices occurring in Lebanon and abroad
- Liaising with LTA’s editor, communication department and youth department
- Prepare a follow up report on the progress of all the activities related to the program and submitted to the program manager
- Ensure that the implementation of the program is in accordance with the mission of the overall program,
- In liaison with the Communication Department:
Select and process materials for the website and Facebook.
Develop and implement a media strategy to promote the program
- In liaison with program team:
Produce constant feedback on the operation of the website and the overall work of the program team
Produce articles diagnosing the areas of corruption in the public administration system and recommendations with respect to elimination/reduction of corruption spots.
Ensure smooth operation of the online supplement
Skills
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus.
Experience in writing articles with high and professional standards
Ability to work on the field and conduct investigative journalism
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
Good knowledge of public administrations’ policies
Advanced computer literacy with a focus on Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent knowledge and familiarity with the internet and the use of social media
Leadership and strong capacity for planning and organization
Excellent interpersonal skills, team work and a good listener
Good communication skills
Ability to take initiatives and be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
