Public Health Assistant - Chekka - Cms013- G4 (Unops - Affiliated Workforce)

The incumbent will assist UNHCR’s health programmes to meet minimum UNHCR and international standards. Theincumbent assists in programme coordination, planning, and monitoring including data analysis and evaluation, capacitybuilding of partners, and advocacy, information and communication on public health and nutrition-related issues. Supporting the UNHCR-supported health services;• Assist with monitoring tasks of the urban health programme;• Assist with implementing the health information and reporting system• Assist with the conduct of health survey sampling of urban refugees;• Assist with the referral system between relevant stakeholders;• Assist with the work of the various health coordination groups related to persons of concern to UNHCR such as Iraqis,non-Iraqis, Syrians, etc;• Assist with the implementation of UNHCR Lebanon Health Guidelines (SOP);• Assist UNHCR with the implementation of public health programme and ensure that health care services provided torefugees are based on Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), UNHCR and/or internationally recognized and most up to datestandards and policies;• Assist with technical guidance and support to the country programme;• Assist with updating and disseminate information materials on public health based on standard practices and policiesamong partners;• Assist the organisation and use of UNHCR Health Information System (HIS) in order to evaluate the effectiveness ofinterventions;• Assist in active involvement in the health programme monitoring and conduct field assessments to the clinics anddesignated hospitals. Monitor the health situation in the field and provide appropriate reporting and assessment results to the SeniorPublic Health Officer;• Liaise with various health stakeholders and act as a focal point for the health sector in the field.• Coordinate the referral systems for secondary and tertiary health care for partners;• Maintain the health mapping of services and partners on a regular basis.

- Clinical degree in health care (e.g. medical or nursing qualification) with a Masters-level qualification in public
health, nutrition or related field
- Knowledgeable of the latest developments and technology in Public Health, Nutrition, Reproductive Health and
HIV/AIDS
- Technical and managerial competence in emergency public health programming preferred
- Ability to promote good working relationships among colleagues, supervisors, and those persons s/he assists
- Ability for analytical and creative thinking for rapid solution(s).
- Good communicator with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to deal with S/M of different cultural and
educational backgrounds.
- Strive to live up to high ethical and professional standards.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in progressively responsible functions, preferably with some experience in an international capacity.
