Procurement Specialist

Chemonics International Inc. seeks candidates for a three year Water Infrastructure Support and Enhancement program in Lebanon funded by USAID. This program will enhance Lebanon’s capacity in the management of water resources through water and wastewater infrastructure upgrades and related management support. The project will provide engineering, procurement, construction, supervision and capacity building services for the purposes of enhancement of the water and wastewater infrastructure conditions and management in Lebanon. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for providing technical assistance in the areas of water infrastructure rehabilitation and development, leading efforts in the procurement, shipping, installation, and commissioning of specific technical equipment and spare parts as required. S/he will be responsible for designing bidding documents and conducting tenders, training others on the preparation of tenders, and for ensuring that all project procurement and subcontract procurement activities are within budget and in compliance with the prime contract, Home Office policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Qualifications: Civil or mechanical engineering degree preferred, not required Experience in water supply services and equipment specification, installation, and maintenance Minimum 3-5 years experience in procurement positions, preferably related to construction activities Previous experience working on donor funded programs required Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to maintain a rapid and demanding pace of work are also required. Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity Oral and written English language fluency required Must be authorized to work in Lebanon.
