Job purpose:
NRC will establish two Community Centres for displaced Syrians in Lebanon. This project reaches out to Syrian families in and around the areas Saadnayel and Aarsal in the Bekaa Valley/Lebanon. NRC seeks to provide information and counselling services relating to access to services; legal status and other related matters. NRC also aims to strengthen the understanding of any protection issues faced by those displaced and, in coordination with other actors, identify ways to address these issues.
This position will be responsible for the day to day running of the centre and supervision of the centre’s staff.
Tasks & Major Areas of Responsibility
Plan, coordinate, and manage daily educational and recreational activities effectively.
Supervise the education social staff involved in the community center in the center and in field
Plan and supervise outreach activities: need analysis, focus group discussions, and any other outreach or field activities
Work cooperatively with the beneficiaries to strengthen the program through direct and constant communication with community reps
Responsible for security and logistic issues at the centre with close coordination with the logistic and admin officers.
Constantly monitor and follow-up on the quality of services provided in the centre
Responsible for information to and cooperation with community representatives and relevant authorities.
Have a clear idea about activities other institutions working in the same area are carrying out with displaced Syrian.
Contribute to the development of referral mechanisms in collaboration with other NGOs and NRC Managers.
Responsible of designing the needed forms, questionnaires and other templates.
Responsible of maintaining the archiving system up to date (both in hardcopies and electronically).
Report weekly & monthly on activities and results to FM and PM.
Carry on administrative tasks as agreed upon.
Perform any other task as assigned by NRC managements.
Experience Required
At least 3 years experience in education programs.
Experience in community sensitization/ mobilization.
Has worked in emergency response or with marginalized communities
Ability to work under pressure
Educational Requirements
University education, in Education or in Social Science preferred
