Srhr Researcher

The researcher will be primarily responsible to: Implement a baseline research protocol based on children’s participation that is in line with the already implemented baseline for Lebanon, oPt and Yemen. The protocol should include ethical guidelines based on SCS child protection policy and child rights based programming. Develop sampling frames ensuring the representation of all targeted children and ensuring the principle of non-discrimination. Adopt previously developed data collection tools and train youths and personnel of partner organizations, in Lebanon, Palestine and Yemen. Develop a field work journal and a monitoring plan for the progress of work Develop a database system for data analysis (EP Info or SPPS). Enter raw data in the database system, clean the data and analyse the results with the help of a data entry assistant. Write a separate report for Lebanon, oPt and Yemen and a combined report for the three targeted countries. Provide copies of the database with raw data to SCI. Present the findings to the SCI Lebanon office and SCS Head office (and EU team if need be) at the end of the assignment.

• Min. 3 years work experience in Qualitative and Quantitative Research, with experience on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights of Children and Adolescents, Children’s Rights and Middle East Context.
• The Researcher must prove the following skills:
Experience in working with qualitative and quantitative data collection tools with a child friendly and user friendly language and design;
• Extensive knowledge of research ethics,
• Clear knowledge and understanding of the added value represented by children’s participation.
• Advanced English and Arabic written and spoken language skills are essential
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural team and environment.
