Vacancies Announcement   Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need around the world. Save the Children has been operating in Lebanon since 1999 and is recognized for its commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration.  Save the Children currently implements programs in Child Protection, Education, CRC and Emergency Response throughout Lebanon.   Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions, on  2.5, 5 or 6 month contracts, for its Lebanon Country Office, in Akkar, Tripoli, and Bekaa:   Case Management and Community Mobilization Officer (Kubayyat- Akkar) The Case Management and Community Mobilization Officer will support the Child Protection Coordinator in the set-up and management of a case management and community mobilization programme ensuring that activities are monitored and delivered to a high quality.  He/ she will supervise and coach case workers on the identification, assessment, documentation, referral (to relevant services) and follow-up of at-risk children and families (Case Management). He/ she will also facilitate, collect and report information regarding the overall situation of child protection risks in Wadi Khaled.   Job Requirements: Degree in education, social work or social sciences Extensive work experience of working directly with adolescents Experience of having worked in NGOs Excellent communication skills with adolescents and parents Experience in project management and supervision of staff (Desirable) Ability to write weekly and monthly reports Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and either English or French Commitment  to  and  understanding  of  Save  the  Children’s  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches     Adolescent Programme Officer  (kubayyat- Akkar) The Adolescent programme officer will support the Child Protection Coordinator in the set-up and management of the youth programme in Akkar, ensuring that activities are monitored and delivered to a high quality. He/ she will support in the implementation of a participatory assessment regarding the situation, concerns, needs and wishes of adolescents residing in Wadi Khaled, support in identifying trainers, support in development and delivery of trainings, supervise the trainers in activities and report back on the activities. He/ she will ensure a strict adherence to the principles of Child Protection at all times.   Job Requirements: Degree in education, social work or social sciences Extensive work experience of working directly with adolescents Excellent communication skills with adolescents and parents Experience in project management and supervision of staff Ability to write weekly and monthly reports Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and either English or French Commitment  to  and  understanding  of  Save  the  Children’s  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches   Child Friendly Space Field Officer (Kubayyat – Akkar) The Child Friendly Space Field Officer will be responsible for the set-up and oversight of the Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) in Akkar, ensuring that activities are monitored and delivered to a high quality by the CFS Animators in each site. The CFS Officer will also work with the animators and social workers to identify, document and refer children that are in need of additional assistance beyond the scope of the CFS (i.e. mental health services) The CFS Officer will document and share successes and challenges of the CFS programme, and ensure that support and training is provided to the CFS animators.   Job Requirements: Degree in teaching, social work or social sciences Extensive work experience of working directly with children Excellent communication skills with children Preferably, experience in project management and supervision of staff Ability to write weekly and monthly reports Commitment  to  and  understanding  of  Save  the  Children’s  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and      either English or French     Community Mobiliser: (Kubayyat- Akkar) The Community Mobiliser will support the implementation of a community mobilisation activities and awareness raising activities with children, parents and community leaders.  He/ she will provide community leaders, CBOs and parents with information regarding services that are available to them and how to access it as well as what save the children is. He/ she will conduct Awareness Raising activities for Syrian and Lebanese parents, children, as  well as community leaders and community based organizations.   Job Requirements:   Degree in Social Work (desirable), or teaching Experience in working with at-risk children and families Experience in community mobilisation and conducting outreach activities Commitment  to  and  understanding  of  Save  the  Children’s  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches Understanding      of social welfare systems and child protection mechanisms Fluency in written and spoken Arabic Ability      to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in the event      of major emergencies   Education Coordinator: (Kubayyat- Akkar) The Education Coordinator will oversee the planning and implementation of the Education in Emergencies programme in Qubayat under the supervision of the Education Advisor. The Education Coordinator  will ensure that the education intervention is of a high technical quality, that monitoring processes are in place, that high quality timely reporting occurs, and that the programme is continually assessed and solutions quickly put in place for a change of context. Job Requirements:   2 years management experience in an NGO environment, including education and emergencies experience BA degree       in  education Knowledge      of international humanitarian systems, institutions and donors, and of      procedures, accountability frameworks and best practices in emergency      management Solid      project management skills related to organisational development projects      and with a proven history of delivering results Excellent interpersonal, communication and      presentation skills Fluency in written and spoken English  and Arabic Commitment       to  and  understanding  of       Save  the  Children’s  aims,       values  and principles  including rights-based approaches   Social Workers – all field locations (Kubayyat, Tripoli and Bekaa) The social workers will facilitate, collect and report information regarding the overall situation of the Syrian refugee children and their families in the community.  They will identify social, psychological and socio-economic needs, refer cases, lead outreach activities and assist in the organisation of trainings and workshops.  They will provide quality information and advice to the Field Managers and Program Managers.  They will ensure a strict adherence to the principles of Child Protection at all times.   Job Requirements: Background in social work and qualification in relevant discipline Minimum 2 years experience of working directly with children, families and stakeholders Excellent report writing and communication skills – both written and verbal Excellent computer skills and able to maintain files, registers and databases   Education Assistants: all field locations (Kubayyat, Tripoli and Bekaa)   The education Assistants will work directly in the field with Syrian Refugee children, families and other stakeholders of the project locations they are allocated to, and provide information and advise beneficiaries on existing social services. They will finalize operational work plans, understand clear targets and activity plans per school, remedial class and accelerated learning program, and assist in education- specific monitoring and evaluating of these activities. .  They will regularly visit project sites to ensure that implementing partners and teachers are appropriately supported. They will ensure a strict adherence to the principles of Child Protection at all times.   Job Requirements: At least two years experience in education, preferably in an NGO environment or educational setting Bachelors  degree  in  education, development  or  another  social  science  Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and either English or French Excellent report writing and communication skills – both written and verbal Excellent computer skills and able to maintain files, registers and databases.   Animators: – 6 month position (Kubayyat Area): to prepare and conduct recreational, educational and psychosocial activities for children at the Child Friendly Space (CFS). They will ensure a strict adherence to the principles of Child Protection at all times. Job Requirements: Degree as an animator, social worker, teacher or kindergarten teacher or extensive work experience of working directly with children Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and either English or French (desirable) Experience in conducting recreational and educational activities for children       APPLICATION PROCESS   Please note that the closing date for applications is Oct 28th.   The selection committee will review all applications as they are received.
